MEET BRITTANY & KATIE
Brittany Finnell Brownlee
Founder
Brittany is a leadership coach and HR consultant with almost 20 years across people operations, strategy innovation, talent acquisition, executive leadership, and organizational development. She has led high-growth technology companies through transformational change, including two successful multi-million dollar acquisitions, where she built People Operations departments from a team of one to many.
Her last 15 years have been focused on technology consulting, commercial real estate, and workplace strategy, where she created talent programs around engagement, retention, and data-driven results - building work cultures that leave people saying "I love my job!" Brittany's most recent success was joining an IWMS consulting firm as a partner & executive leader, where she built the workforce into one of the industry's most premier teams, resulting in an acquisition by the world's largest corporate real estate company.
As a coach, Brittany blends business experience with deep human connection, helping people gain self-awareness, clarify their goals, and unlock what's next. She leverages the Clarity Compass program (developed by Dr. Brit Poulson) and serves as a consultant and coach on their team. Brittany holds a BA in Human Resources Development with a minor in Business from Texas A&M University.
Katie Hendricks
Partner
Katie is a partner at White Hat, where she leads recruiting and talent strategy. With 13 years in people operations and talent acquisition, Katie specializes in finding the right people for hard-to-fill roles - across commercial real estate, startups, workplace technology (IWMS), and lifestyle & consumer brands.
Her approach is relational, not transactional: she'd rather tell you honestly when she's not the right fit than pitch you something that isn't. Katie believes the best hires happen when someone takes the time to understand both sides of the table - what a company truly needs, and what a candidate truly wants. She digs into the real requirements behind a role, not just the job description, and she only brings forward people that she genuinely believes in. That's how she works, and it's why her placements stick.
Katie holds a certification in HR Essentials from Cornell University, pairing formal training with 13 years of hands-on experience.
OUR STORY
It started with a LinkedIn message. Katie was building the HR and people operations team at a consumer brand company - and wasn't looking to leave - when Britt found her, headhunting for Building I: a workplace technology company built around IWMS, occupancy planning, CAD, and BIM. Katie loved Britt, loved the opportunity, and was ready for bigger things. We partnered on people operations from day one, and it just clicked: same values, same morals, same people-first, relationship-driven way of working.
When CBRE acquired Building I, we navigated the transition side by side. The years that followed took us down different paths - corporate roles, babies, career pivots - but we stayed close through all of it.
Now we're building together: a boutique search and people operations consultancy rooted in everything we've learned on every side of the table. We've seen what great people decisions look like - and what happens without them.
